Luger Serial Numbers and Production Estimates Gents, I'm very interested in an article published -according to Jan Still in 'Imperial Lugers', pg. Mauser P-08 began production at serial# 1 with the K date in 1934, and simply progressed through the number-suffix irrespective of year.
This practice was followed by both DWM and Erfurt.

At every 10,000 guns the number series was started over again at 1, with a letter suffix added, progressing through the alphabet until the next year. All the visible serial numbers match, except for the non numbers matching magazine. Having very slight edge wear on the rails. 9mm 96% blue, 85% straw, very good bore, very good grips, 4' barrel, The metal finish is in very good condition.
